2-year-olds
Early Education & Childcare Entitlement for 2-year-olds receiving additional forms of support - 570 hours over a 12-month cycle
If you receive qualifying benefits, your two-year-old may be entitled to up to 15 hours per week of early education for 38 weeks or stretched for the equivalent number of hours across more weeks of the year. As we are open 50 weeks a year, (closed on all Bank holidays and for two weeks at the Christmas to New Year period) we stretch the funding to cover those weeks which works out at 11.5 hours per week.
Eligible 2-year-olds can receive their education entitlement from the term after their second birthday:
Child birth dates and when they can get their hours from
1st September to 31st December - Spring term – starting on or after 1st January
1st January to 31st March - Summer term – starting on or after 1st April
1st April to 31st August - Autumn term – starting on or after 1st September
You can qualify if you receive any of the following benefits:

Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

Universal Credit, and your household income is £15,400 a year or less after tax, not including benefit payments

The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
2-year-olds can also get their education entitlement if they

Are looked after by a local authority

Have an education, health and care (EHC) plan

Have left care under an adoption order, special guardianship order or a child arrangements order
